Subscription Help

How to pause your next delivery

If you are going away, working through old stock, or just need a break, pausing your subscription is the simplest option. Use the enquiry form on our contact page and tell us which delivery you want to skip, or the date range you need paused. We handle subscriptions for homes and offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Gqeberha, so it helps if you include your area and the delivery address on the message.

For best results, send your request before your next roast-and-pack cycle. That gives us time to stop the order in time and avoid a box arriving when no one is there to receive it. If your building has access rules, reception limits or municipal collection points, mention that too so we can plan properly.

  • State your name and subscription reference if you have it
  • Say whether you want one delivery paused or a longer break
  • Include the date you want the pause to start
  • Tell us if the parcel goes to home, office or a shared building

Changing your coffee, grind or delivery frequency

Subscriptions can be adjusted when your taste changes or when your household uses coffee more quickly than expected. If you want a different roast style, a new grind setting, or more frequent deliveries, send the request through the contact form and we will check what can be changed on your current plan. Grind changes are worth flagging early, especially if you have changed from cafetiere to espresso or bought a new brewer.

It also helps to let us know if your delivery address is exposed to coastal humidity in places like Woodstock, the Southern Suburbs or the Atlantic Seaboard, because storage and packaging advice can change slightly. Keeping coffee sealed well makes a real difference in Cape Town summer heat and in homes where load-shedding affects fridges and storage routines.

  • Pick your preferred roast or flavour direction
  • Ask for a different grind, if needed
  • Choose a faster or slower delivery rhythm
  • Let us know if your order is for home, a meeting room or a staff kitchen

Restarting after a pause or skipped order

If you paused your subscription and want it going again, send a restart request through the enquiry form. Mention the date you want deliveries to resume and whether your address or access details have changed. If your office moved floors, switched building managers or changed delivery hours, add that in the same message so the next box does not get delayed at reception.

We can also help if you skipped one delivery but are ready to continue on your usual schedule. In most cases, it is a straightforward update. If you had several bags left over, you may want to reduce the next order size or switch to a slower cycle for a month or two.

  • Tell us the date you want service to restart
  • Confirm the delivery address and contact person
  • Update access notes if your office rules changed
  • Ask for a one-off top-up or regular restart

When your coffee runs out sooner than expected

Some households go through coffee faster than planned, especially when visitors drop in or when the office becomes busier than usual. If you need an earlier delivery, contact us as soon as you can through the form on our contact page. We will check what is possible and look at your current cycle.

In South Africa, courier timing can be affected by public holidays, weather, municipal access restrictions and peak traffic in Cape Town, Johannesburg or Durban. If you know a busy week is coming up, it is better to move the delivery forward early rather than waiting until the last minute. That gives us a bit more time to work around the schedule, which is always better than chasing a package after it has already left the roastery.

For office clients, it helps to confirm who will sign for the order and whether coffee should go to a reception area, kitchen, or secure stock room.

What to include in your support request

The more detail you give us, the faster we can sort out your subscription. You do not need to write a long message. A few clear notes are usually enough for us to make the change correctly. Keep it simple and include only the parts that matter for your order.

  • Your name and delivery address
  • Whether you want to pause, change or restart
  • The date the change should apply from
  • The coffee you are currently receiving
  • Any access notes for apartments, offices or estates
  • Whether the order is for home use, staff service or client facing coffee

If you are in a shared building, please add reception hours, lift access or any special collection process. That small bit of detail saves time for everyone and helps keep the delivery moving without unnecessary back-and-forth.

If you need help deciding what to change

Sometimes the problem is not the subscription itself, but the fit. You may need a coarser grind for a new brewer, a stronger seasonal rotation for the office, or a slower cycle because the team is smaller this month. Our team can help with that through the contact form, and we can point you in the right direction based on how you brew and how much coffee you use.

A Cup Of roasts in Woodstock, Cape Town and supplies homes and offices across the country, so we are used to practical changes: holiday pauses, staff moves, new equipment, and shared kitchens with limited storage. If your setup changes, let us know before the next order goes out. It is easier to adjust early than to fix a box that is already on the way.

Questions we get asked

How do I pause my coffee subscription?

Send a request through the enquiry form on our contact page with your name, address and the date you want the pause to begin. If possible, contact us before your next roast-and-pack cycle so the change can be applied in time.

Can I change the coffee or grind in my subscription?

Yes. You can request a different coffee, grind setting or delivery frequency through the contact form. If your brewing method has changed, mention that as well so we can guide the adjustment properly.

What if I want to start my subscription again after a break?

Let us know through the enquiry form and include the date you want deliveries to resume. If your address, office access or contact person changed while you were away, please include that too.
