How long delivery usually takes
Delivery times depend on when your order is placed, your location, and whether the coffee is part of a scheduled subscription or a once-off order. As a guide, Cape Town orders usually move faster than long-distance deliveries, while Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Gqeberha can take a little longer because of courier routing and volume.
Most orders leave our roastery after roasting, packing and a final quality check. If you place an order on a weekday morning it may go out sooner than one placed after cut-off time or over the weekend. During load-shedding or heavy courier periods, dispatch can shift by a day, so it helps to plan ahead if you are running low at home or in the office.
- Cape Town metro deliveries are usually the quickest.
- Main centre deliveries across South Africa generally take longer than local runs.
- Public holidays and month-end can affect courier timing.
Where we deliver in South Africa
We deliver to homes and offices across South Africa, including Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Gqeberha. In Cape Town we regularly send orders to Woodstock, the Southern Suburbs and the Atlantic Seaboard. For businesses, we also deliver to meeting rooms, wellness rooms, hospitality counters and shared office kitchens where regular coffee supply matters.
Courier access can differ by address. If your building has security rules, loading bay windows or reception sign-in requirements, please make sure those details are included with your order so the driver can get in and out without delays. Coastal humidity in places like Durban and Gqeberha makes sealed packing important, and our bags are packed to help keep coffee fresh on the way to you.
- Home deliveries across major South African cities.
- Office and workplace delivery for teams of all sizes.
- Regular supply for hospitality and events by arrangement.
How subscription deliveries work
If you are on a coffee subscription, your deliveries follow the schedule you chose when signing up. That may be weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on how much coffee you use. Subscriptions are useful for households that brew every day, and for offices where the team goes through bags faster than expected.
To keep your delivery on time, check that your address, contact person and access instructions are current. If you are going away, moving office or changing how much coffee you need, it is best to update your subscription before the next roast cycle. That way you avoid extra courier fees, missed drops or excess stock sitting in a cupboard.
- Keep your delivery details up to date.
- Adjust your quantity before busy periods or leave.
- Change the schedule if your usage goes up or down.
Courier tracking and delivery updates
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive courier tracking details so you can follow the parcel’s progress. Tracking is the best way to see when the package leaves Cape Town, reaches your nearest hub, and moves into final delivery. If the driver has trouble with access, a receptionist is unavailable, or the address is incomplete, the courier may need to try again.
We recommend checking tracking on the day of delivery, especially if you are receiving coffee at work. Office buildings sometimes need a name on the intercom, a floor number or a specific collection point. If a parcel is marked as delivered but you cannot find it, first check with reception, security, and nearby colleagues before sending in a query.
- Watch for the tracking link after dispatch.
- Check your spam folder if the update is not visible.
- Confirm building access details for office deliveries.
What to do if your order is delayed
Courier delays can happen because of weather, road closures, high parcel volume, or network issues in certain areas. If your order is late, start by checking the tracking status and any courier notes. Sometimes a parcel is already on its way but the system has not updated yet. If the delivery window has passed, use the enquiry form on our contact page so we can review the order and help you work out the next step.
When you send a query, include your name, order details and the full delivery address. The more detail you give us, the faster we can trace what is happening. If your coffee is needed for a function, a staff meeting or a hospitality service shift, tell us that as well so we can prioritise the right response.
- Check tracking first.
- Send full order and address details with your enquiry.
- Let us know if the order is time-sensitive.
Receiving coffee for homes, offices and venues
For home deliveries, make sure someone will be available to accept the parcel or that the courier can safely leave it at your chosen drop point. For offices and venues, nominate one contact person who can receive the parcel, sign if needed, and store the coffee in a cool dry place. Coffee keeps best away from heat, direct sunlight and strong smells, especially in busy kitchens and shared prep areas.
If you are ordering for a hospitality site, event or multi-site business, it helps to forecast stock ahead of time. We can support recurring supply, seasonal coffee rotation and planning for busy periods such as year-end functions, long weekends and office refreshes. That way your team does not run out just when everyone wants a proper cup.
- Choose a receiver who is available during delivery hours.
- Store coffee in a cool, dry place after arrival.
- Plan ahead for events, office peaks and holiday periods.
