Why people join our coffee team
We are based in Woodstock, Cape Town and work with customers in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Gqeberha. That means the work is practical, varied and tied to real service levels, from roasting and packing to subscriptions, brew support and wholesale coordination. If you like coffee and you are comfortable working with a small team that keeps things moving, you will fit in here.
Our team values reliability, clear communication and attention to detail. Load-shedding, stock timing and delivery schedules are part of the job, so we need people who can stay calm, organise their day and keep standards high. You do not need to know everything on day one, but you do need a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
Roles we hire for across the business
We recruit for hands-on and customer-facing roles throughout the business. Depending on the needs of the team, we may look for people in roasting, operations, logistics, education, wholesale support and customer service. Some roles are based in Woodstock, while others support clients across the country.
- Roastery and production support
- Head roaster and roasting assistant roles
- Subscription and fulfilment coordination
- Wholesale and hospitality support
- Coffee education and brew training
- Customer service and admin support
We also welcome people with experience in grind calibration, stock forecasting, menu planning and event coffee planning. If you have worked in cafés, hotels, offices or food service before, that experience can count for a lot.
What we look for in applicants
We want people who take pride in doing the basics well. That includes turning up on time, keeping work areas tidy, following instructions and handling customer requests with care. Coffee is important, but so is consistency. Our clients rely on us for office coffee, meeting room coffee, wellness room coffee and hospitality service that works day after day.
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and follow-through
- Interest in coffee quality and service
- Ability to work with systems and routines
- Comfort with early starts or busy delivery days
- Respect for food safety and cleanliness standards
If you are practical, dependable and ready to learn, you will likely enjoy the pace here. We work with single-origin coffee, seasonal rotation plans and subscription orders, so there is always something new to keep track of.
How to apply for a role with us
To apply, send us your CV through the enquiry form on our contact page. Please include a short note about the role you are interested in, your current location and any coffee or hospitality experience you have. If you have worked in roasting, operations, training or customer service before, mention that clearly.
We review applications when there is a suitable opening, and we keep strong candidates on file for future hiring needs. We ask for clear, honest information so we can match people to the right role and the right level of responsibility.
Where your work can make a difference
The work here is not just about coffee bags and brew charts. It affects morning routines in homes, staff rooms in offices and service standards in hospitality spaces. A well-managed subscription run, a properly calibrated grinder or a clear training session can make a real difference to the final cup.
We also work with clients across different climates and settings, from coastal humidity in the Cape to busy office environments inland. That means packaging, storage and brewing advice need to be practical, not vague. If you like solving real problems and seeing the result of your work, this is a good place to be.
A team that keeps learning
Our team includes people focused on roasting, education, operations, subscriptions and support. That mix means you can learn from others and build your knowledge over time. We often talk about extraction, grind size, water, freshness and seasonal flavour changes, but we also talk about stock levels, dispatch timing and customer needs.
- Learn from experienced coffee people in the business
- Build skills in service, production and logistics
- Work with clients in retail, office and hospitality settings
- Grow with a company that has been operating since 2012
If you want a role where coffee knowledge and practical business sense both matter, A Cup Of may be the right fit for you.
